Sometimes it makes sense to use footnotes in presentations. This is useful, for example, for referencing sources or to provide additional information. This article explains how to add footnotes in a PowerPoint presentation and display them using superscript numbers.

Insert footnote in PowerPoint

1st step:

Click on the place your slide where you want to create a footnote. Enter the symbol that you want to identify the footnote (for example, "1" or "*").

Go to " Header and Footer " in the " Text " area at the top of the " Insert " tab . A window will open.

Check the " Footer " tab in the " Foil " tab . In the field below , enter the symbol that you set for the footnote in step 1. After that you write the text that should be in the footnote.

If you only want the footnote to be on the current slide , click " Apply ". If you want the footnote to appear on all slides , click Apply to All . If you want the footnote to be invisible on the title slide, check " Do not show on title slide " beforehand .
