As in any messenger, you can easily delete your contacts in Telegram. We'll explain how it's done..

Telegram is an instant messenger like WhatsApp that allows you to call your contacts and send them messages. But if you no longer want to communicate with someone from your contact list, you can delete them. Keep in mind, however, that deleting contacts does not delete chat histories with them - you will need to delete them separately.

Delete contacts in Telegram

You can easily get rid of individual contacts that you have saved in Telegram.

1st step:

Open the Telegram app on your smartphone and select the chat of the contact you want to delete.

2nd step:

Then tap the contact name at the top .

3rd step:

Now open the three-point menu at the top right.

4th step:

Then select the entry " Delete contact " in the menu .

5th step:

Now confirm the process with " Delete ". The contact will then be removed from your Telegram.

1st step:

Open the desktop version of Telegram on your computer. There, on the left, select the chat of the contact you want to delete. Then click on the contact name above .

2nd step:

Now select " More ... " in the new window below .

3rd step:

Then click on " Remove contact ".

4th step:

The contact was then deleted from your Telegram.

Delete imported Telegram contacts

By default, Telegram imports all contacts in your smartphone's address book. While this can be useful, if you don't want to see all of your contacts in Telegram, you can delete them. Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions ..

1st step:

Open Telegram on your smartphone and tap the burger menu in the top left of the app .

2nd step:

Then select " Settings ".

3rd step:

Here tap on " Privacy and Security ".

4th step:

Now scroll down to the point " Contacts ". Deactivate the " Synchronize contacts " option here . If you don't do that before deleting the imported contacts, they will simply be synced again.

5th step:

Then tap on " Delete synchronized contacts ".

6th step:

Confirm the process with " Delete ".

7th step:

You should now see that your contacts from the address book are no longer displayed in Telegram.

1. In the Telegram app, select the chat of the contact you want to delete.
2. At the top, tap the contact name .
3. Open the three-point menu at the top right and then select " Delete contact ".
4. Confirm the process with " Delete ". The selected contact will then be removed from your Telegram.

1. In the desktop version of Telegram, select the chat of the contact you want to delete on the left .
2. Click on the contact name up there .
3. Then click on " More ... " under " Share contact ".
4. Then select " Remove Contact " to delete the contact.

1. In the Telegram app, tap the burger menu in the top right corner and then select " Settings ".
2. Then go to " Privacy and Security ".
3. Now deactivate the option " Synchronize contacts " under the point " Contacts ".
