You don't want your contacts to see when you were last active on Telegram? Just turn this setting off..
If you use Telegram you can see the online status of your contacts. This will be displayed in the chat window at the top under the contact name. There you can see when a contact was last active on Telegram. Usually it says the date and time, but sometimes you can only find approximate information such as "last seen". We explain what is behind it here.
Just like WhatsApp, Telegram has your online status activated by default. So your contacts can see when you were last active in Messenger. However, if you disable this status, you will only see an approximate time instead, such as "last seen" or "within a week". You will then only see such information in your contacts, unless you share your status with a contact and they also share it with you. Then the status of your contact says something like "last online Jan. 01 at 10:00". The approximate times help to find out - even if the exact status is deactivated - whether a person can be reached via Telegram or whether it is rather unlikely that they will react to a message.Below is a more detailed explanation of the approximate times:
If you would like to hide your online status on Telegram and instead only set the approximate times, you can simply do this in the settings of the app. Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .
