Disable automatic start in Microsoft Teams

Open the Microsoft meeting tool and go to the three-dot menu next to your profile picture in the upper right corner. There you click on " Settings ".

Switch off autostart via the registry editor

Teams still starts automatically with Windows 10? Then remove the entry from the registry editor. Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the quick start guide ..

1st step:

Open the start menu. Enter regedit here and right- click on the corresponding result. Select "Run as administrator " and, if necessary, enter your administrator data. Usually these are your login details for the computer. Select " Yes " when a brief warning message appears.

In the registry menu, follow the path " HKEY_CURRENT_USER "> " SOFTWARE "> " Microsoft "> " Windows "> " CurrentVersion" > " Run ". Alternatively, you can copy " HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run " directly into the line above.

Now delete the entry " com.squirrel.Teams.Teams " from the Windows 10 autostart by right-clicking on it and selecting " Delete ".

Quick start guide: Task Manager

  1. Simultaneously press the [Windows] + [X] keys .
  2. Select the " Task Manager " in the menu .
  3. Now navigate to the " Autostart " tab .
  4. Find " Microsoft Teams " and right click on the entry.
  5. The Microsoft program is no longer opened when the PC is started using the " Deactivate " option .

  1. Open the Run menu with the key combination [Windows] + [R] and enter " regedit ". Confirm with " Yes ".
  2. Now copy " HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run " into the navigation bar above.
  3. To delete the app from the Windows 10 autostart, the entry " com.squirrel.Teams.Teams " must be deleted. This works with a right click and " Delete ".
