Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming services and it gives you a great deal of control over the way you experience your music. This also includes the picture for your playlists in the app. You can easily change the cover both in the smartphone app and in the desktop version of Spotify.

How to change the picture of Spotify playlists

Smartphone app

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open the Spotify app on your smartphone and select a playlist you want. Make sure the selected playlist was created by you . The covers of public playlists cannot be changed by you, only by the creator.

2nd step:

Then tap on the three-dot menu in the upper right corner to open the other options for the playlist.

3rd step:

Then tap on " Edit playlist ".

4th step:

Now go to " Change picture " under the cover of the playlist .

5th step:

Then select " Select Photo " to choose a picture from your gallery, or " Take Photo " to take a picture with the camera.

6th step:

For illustrative purposes we choose a picture from the gallery.

7th step:

You will then get a preview of your picture. At the bottom, tap Use Photo .

8th step:

Then tap " Save " at the top right to save the changes to your playlist.

9th step:

The image was then changed successfully.

Desktop

1st step:

Open Spotify on your computer and select one of your desired playlists on the left. Make sure you have created the playlist as you cannot change the cover of any public playlist you follow. Then move your mouse pointer over the playlist image until the pencil icon appears and click on it.

2nd step:

Then go to the three-point menu and then select " Replace image ".

3rd step:

Now select the desired picture on your computer and then open it.

4th step:

Then click on the " Save " button below .

5th step:

The picture of your playlist has now been changed.

Quick guide: App

1. Open the playlist you want in the Spotify app . Make sure that this was created by you, as the covers of public playlists cannot be changed by you, only by the creator.
2. At the top right, tap on the three-point menu and then select " Edit playlist ".
3. Then, under the cover of the playlist, tap Change Picture .
4. Now select either "Select Photo " or " Take Photo ".
5. Once you have selected a desired image, tap on " Use photo " below .
6. Then go to " Save " at the top right .

Quick start guide: Desktop

1. In Spotify on your computer, select the playlist you want on the left . Make sure you have created the playlist as you cannot change the cover of any public playlist you follow.
2. Then move your mouse pointer over the playlist image until the pencil symbol appears. Then click on it.
3. Now open the three-point menu and select " Replace image ".
4. You can then select an image from your computer.
5. Then click on the " Save " button .
