The presentation software PowerPoint is part of the Microsoft Office suite. There are tons of effects in it, one of which is zoom. This allows you to make your presentation more appealing and, for example, jump from an overview page to individual slides on which, for example, an image or graphic is available for illustration. This article explains how to set up the zoom with PowerPoint for your presentation.

Note: In order to be able to insert the zoom into your presentation, you need PowerPoint under Microsoft Office 365 or PowerPoint from version 2019.

1st step:

First, open your PowerPoint presentation with several pieces of content that have already been laid out. Now insert a kind of overview page at any point from which you want to zoom to any slide. This is useful, for example, if you want to refer to one of the later slides earlier. To do this, click on " New Slide " under " Start ".

2nd step:

Assuming that you would like to zoom in on a later picture or other content, the so-called slide zoom is ideal for your presentation. Navigate via " Insert " and " Zoom " to " Slide zoom ".

Now select the slide that is to be selected from the overview page with a zoom animation. To do this, set one or more ticks for the slide that should appear as an image on the current slide and confirm with " Insert ".

4th step:

The selected slide is now displayed as a small picture in the PowerPoint presentation. Then start the presentation to test the functionality.

In the PowerPoint presentation, click on the image to display its content. PowerPoint automatically opens the slide with a zoom animation. You can then navigate back to the overview page. There are no limits to your creativity. Make a more appealing presentation with several small pictures that zoom in on other slides.

quick start Guide

  1. Open the PowerPoint presentation for which you want to create a zoom effect. This is available either for Office 365 or from PowerPoint 2019.
  2. Insert a " New Slide " as an overview page in your presentation.
  3. Navigate in the PowerPoint menu via " Insert " and " Zoom " to " Slide zoom ".
  4. Insert hook in the film that are to appear as an image on the current slide.
  5. Then confirm with " Insert ".
  6. The selected slide is displayed as a small image on the overview page.
  7. In the presentation itself, this is opened by clicking with a zoom animation.
