The offline function of Google Maps can be a very useful thing, especially when you are abroad without mobile internet. You can still navigate using GPS without using up any data volume. Before doing this, all you have to do is download the map of the place or region. This will then be available to you for the next 30 days. Note: You must have a stable internet connection in order to download maps. So plan in advance which locations should be available offline and download them from the WLAN.
