1. Open the control panel: In Windows 10 you can access the control panel in several ways. One of them is by using the Windows keyboard shortcuts, but the easiest way to enter the control panel is by clicking on the Windows icon on the taskbar, or by pressing the Windows key on the keyboard. Change account name in Windows 10 from Microsoft account

If you are signed in with a Microsoft account, the name used will be the name of that account. If you want to modify it, you will have to change the Windows account settings in your own Microsoft account.

Important: Neither method of changing the Windows 10 username affects the username of the user folder . This directory is set when the user account is created and does not change, even if the login name is changed. Manually renaming the User Box can cause serious problems.

If you want to change the name of the folder, we recommend that you create a new account with the correct name and transfer all the data to the new account.

Changes made to the name of the Microsoft account also affect other Microsoft services , such as email services or those in the Office suite. This means that your new username will also be your name in your email account.
