Privacy is something that every user of electronic devices and applications appreciates today. All the chats through which you have communicated with other users directly by private messages are shown in the Direct messages section of Instagram. In this list of chats until now you could only see the days since the last message was sent or received in each of the chats..
Well, this has now changed and after the last update, the activity status is shown on Instagram , that is, you can know how long ago the user of an Instagram chat was connected or opened the app . This function is practically identical to that of Messenger in that users can find out if other users are currently active or not. On Instagram you can also know when the last time that user opened the app, since the hours and minutes that said user opened the Instagram app will be displayed. This is not all since in the event that you are not active, the time or day that said user was active on Instagram will also be displayed. This new feature is not liked by everyone as it can jeopardize our privacy by showing all users information about our Instagram activity . Sometimes you may receive a message to which you do not want to reply, however, with this Instagram function, the user who has sent this private message, you will know that you are connected and therefore get angry at not receiving a response.
Fortunately Instagram incorporates in the Configuration, the possibility of deactivating the option: Show activity status . This way no one will be able to know the last time you were connected to Instagram or if you are active at the moment . Here we show you how to disable it:
Prevent other Instagram users from knowing when you are active or when it was the last time you opened the app. (iOS and Android)
- All you have to do is access the Instagram App. Once inside, access direct messages, which you can do from the home screen by clicking on the paper plane icon located in the upper right corner of the screen. This will show all the chats in which the activity status of each of the users participating in said chat is shown..
- Obviously this means that you have activated the option Show activity status. To disable this option and prevent other users from knowing if you are connected or the last time you connected to Instagram, you will have to go to your profile by clicking on your profile photo located in the lower right corner of the screen.
- One here click on the icon in the form of three ellipsis in the upper right corner to access the Options screen. Once here, slide the screen from bottom to top until you find the option: Show activity status. Next to this option you will find a switch which you must deactivate..
From this moment on, nobody will know if you are active on Instagram at that moment. It will also not show the last time you were active on the social network. However, you should also bear in mind that when you deactivate this function, you will not be able to know the activity status of other users on the Instagram social network; instead you will only have the information regarding the last time you received or sent a private message through chat.
