Would you like to tidy up your music library and delete old songs, albums or the entire media library from the iPhone? We show how it's done!

Music files also take up a large part of the storage space on the iPhone. There is nothing wrong with cleaning up every now and then. Would you like to create some space and remove old songs from the media library or empty the entire media library? Then follow one of our two instructions:

• Delete entire library

Delete individual tracks

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the quick start guide .

1st step:

Open the Music app on your iPhone. Select an option below " Library " and then tap " Title " to delete individual songs, or " albums " to a whole album to be removed.

2nd step:

Tap the song or album you want to delete and hold on ( iPhone 6 or older ). With 3D Touc h tap the title a little harder ( iPhone 6s or newer ).

3rd step:

In both cases a new window opens in which you have to tap " Remove ".

4th step:

Now choose whether you want to delete the title from the library or remove the download . In this example we tap on " Remove download ". If you only remove the download, the title will still be in iCloud and can be downloaded again using the cloud icon . Nevertheless, the storage space on the device is released. If you remove the track or album from the library , it will also disappear from iCloud.

Delete entire library

1st step:

Open the settings of your iPhone. Then tap on " General ".

2nd step:

Now tap on " iPhone Storage ".

3rd step:

Swipe down until you find the Music app and tap it.

4th step:

" All titles " can be found under recommendations . Swipe it to the left. 7The " Delete " field appears . Tap that and your entire library will be removed from the iPhone. You can also delete individual artists, albums or tracks here . Simply tap on the relevant artist below.

Quick guide: Delete individual tracks

1. Open the Music app on your iPhone and tap " Library " in the lower left corner.
2. Tap the item " title " or " Albums " and locate the song or the album out, that You want to delete.
3. Tap it a little longer at ( iPhone 6 or older ), or tap and fixed it to the 3D Touch to use ( iPhone 6s or later ).
4. A new window is opening up. Tap on " Remove ".
5. To delete the track or album from the device but keep it in iCloud, tap Remove Download . If there is not much space left in iCloud either, tap " Delete from library ".

Brief instructions: Delete the entire library

1. Open Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Music App
2. Under Recommendations you will find the point " All titles ". Swipe it to the left .
3. The " Delete " field appears . Tap this and all music files are removed from the iPhone. Under " Artist ", however, you can also only remove individual artists, albums or tracks .
