How to calibrate your iPhone battery

Your iPhone battery is not holding out as long as it should? Then it's time to calibrate it..

The battery of your Apple iPhone is spinning and discharging much faster than usual? If it is not defective and needs to be replaced, then it may simply not be properly calibrated. You will notice this above all when the battery level is still at 10 percent, for example, but the smartphone suddenly goes out. The operating system gets the impression that the battery is empty, although there is still a remaining charge. A calibration should help to optimally adapt the battery control of iOS to the energy storage. In this article we explain what you have to do.

How to calibrate your iPhone battery

  1. First discharge your battery until the smartphone switches off. Then connect it to a power source and let it charge completely without interruption . Preferably an hour longer than actually necessary.
  2. Now discharge the battery completely again . The fastest way to do this is to take 4K recordings with your camera or play 3D games.
  3. Now let your iPhone sit for a few hours to completely discharge the battery. To make sure that the battery is really deeply discharged, try switching the smartphone on. If it doesn't react, it's deeply discharged.
  4. You can now charge your iPhone again . The battery is now calibrated and should work reliably again afterwards.
