Have you made changes to the Safari settings and your browser is no longer working properly? In such a case, it can be helpful to reset Safari and bring it back to its original state. Be sure to back up important bookmarks beforehand. This data is lost when the browser is reset. There are also different procedures for the different macOS versions. We'll show you how to do it.

Reset Safari for OS X Yosemite and newer versions

1st step:

Open the settings of your Safari browser by clicking on " Safari " and " Preferences ".

First click on " Passwords ", mark all passwords and then click on " Remove ".

Go to " Privacy " and select " Manage website data ".

Finally, in the newly opened window, click on " Remove all ".

Under " Websites " on the left, click " Notifications ", tick all notifications and click " Remove ". (In the picture example no messages are preset, therefore the " Remove " button is grayed out)

Also delete the history via the menu item " History " and there " Delete history ".

Then select " All History " from the drop-down menu and click " Clear History ".
