This article shows you how to open and keep using ZIP files on iOS..

Since iOS 8, opening a ZIP file has been possible with a single tap. However, if you want to continue using the individual files contained in the ZIP file, a few additional steps are necessary. We will show you how you can open ZIP files on your iPhone or iPad and then edit them further.

You can either open your ZIP file on the iPhone directly in the attachment of the associated e-mail by tapping it , or you can first download it to your " Files " app and open it there. Select " Preview Contents " to view the files contained in the ZIP one by one. Unfortunately, there is no way to extract the files from this view.

1st step:

Download the ZIP file and start the " Files " app on your iPhone.

2nd step:

Then tap on " On my iPhone " to access the downloaded ZIP files. Then open the ZIP file by tapping it .

3rd step:

Then go to the " Share " button at the bottom left .

4th step:

Finally, tap on the app that will allow you to open and edit the files . When you have finished editing, save the file individually. You have now saved the file separately on your iPhone and outside the ZIP file.

1. Open the " Files " app.
2. Select " On My iPhone ".
3. Then go to the " Share " button at the bottom left .
4. From there, tap on the app that you want to use to open the files . There you can save it again and thus store it outside the ZIP file.
