You can easily create hyperlinks in PowerPoint. Just follow our instructions..

Hyperlinks allow you to navigate within your PowerPoint presentation or open documents outside of it without leaving presentation mode. This way, you create interactive and non-linear presentations that can add dynamism to your presentation.

Create a hyperlink in PowerPoint

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the quick start guide .

1st step:

Select the text or object on your slide that you want to link to. Then switch to the " Insert " tab at the top and click the " Links " button . Then select " Insert link ... ".

2nd step:

Now select " File or Website " on the left if you want to create a hyperlink to a web address or an existing document . If you click on the button with the green arrow next to " Search in: ", you can search for the desired file on your PC. Next to " Address " you can enter the URL of a website.

3rd step:

If you switch to " Current Document " on the left , you can create a link to a slide in your current presentation . There you can choose from all of the slides you have created so far.

4th step:

Under " New Document " you can also create a new document which will be saved by default in the same folder as your current presentation. To change this, click on the " Change ... " button .

Once you have created the hyperlink, move your mouse pointer over it. Hold down the [Ctrl] key and click to open the target of the link.

Change the color of the hyperlink

Switch to the " Design " tab at the top and click " Colors " in the " Variants " category . You can then choose between various color packages. If none of these suit you, you can use the " Adjust colors ... " button to create your own creations.

2nd step:

Click the arrow next to " Link " to choose a new color. With " More colors ... " you can also choose your own color.

quick start Guide

  1. Select the text or an object that you want to create the hyperlink to. Switch to the " Insert " tab at the top , click on " Links " and then select " Insert link ... ".
  2. If you switch to " File or Website ", you can link an existing document or a website .
  3. Under " Current Document " you can select a slide from your current presentation to which you would like to link.
  4. If you choose " New Document ", you will create a new document which will be saved in the same folder as your presentation.
  5. To open a link , hold down the [Ctrl] key and click on it.
