If you want to have your finished presentation printed out or forward it via e-mail, it is possible that the file size is too large. You can leave the images on the highest setting for printing, but not every e-mail provider offers an unlimited file attachment for e-mails. Therefore, in this post we explain how you can reduce the size of the images in PowerPoint in order to optimize the file size. Then you can save the file and send it without any problems.

How to compress pictures in PowerPoint

1st step:

Open an existing PowerPoint presentation with pictures or create a new one and insert a picture. Click a picture and choose Picture Tools > Format from the menu bar at the top .

In the Adjust group, choose the Compress Pictures icon .

3rd step:

You now have the option to adjust the resolution of the image. Please select an appropriate option that meets your needs. Then click OK . Repeat the process for all other images. Note: Depending on the initial quality of the image (measured in ppi: pixels per inch), you may not be able to select all options. If the image is already a small file size or is of poor quality, you have fewer options here.
