You will probably get a lot of notifications while using Windows 10. But did you know that you can turn off certain notifications and even set which apps and programs can send you notifications?

How to set up notifications in Windows 10

1st step:

Open the Windows settings by pressing the key combination [Windows] + [I] . There click on " System ".

2nd step:

Now switch to " Notifications and Actions " on the left . Here you can switch off all notifications by deactivating the slider and removing all ticks. Instead of turning off all notifications, however, you may want to determine which notifications you receive. In this case, activate the switch under " Get notifications from apps and other senders ". You then have the choice between further options: The " Show notifications on the lock screen " option will display your notifications on the lock screen before you sign in to Windows. It is only useful if you agree that other people can also see your notifications. The second option shows reminders and notifications of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) calls on the lock screen. The third option shows you notifications of new and recommended features after Windows has been updated. The last option suggests tips and tricks for using Windows.

3rd step:

Next, scroll down a little to the heading " Get notifications from these senders ". Here you can choose which apps and programs you want to receive notifications from. To deactivate this, set the switch behind the respective sender to " Off ".

4th step:

You can select an app or feature and customize its notifications. Click an app whose notifications you have turned on. Here you can now set various options, e.g. whether banners should be displayed or sounds should be played.

5th step:

Now go back to the previous screen and switch to " Notification Assistant " on the left . This prevents you from being disturbed during certain times or activities. The wizard is switched off by default, but you can activate it with the " Priority only " or " Alerts only " options . If you click on " Customize priority list ", you can add certain contacts or apps to your priority list, whose notifications will then be displayed even though the notification assistant is active.

6th step:

Even if the latest notifications are not displayed on your screen, you can still view them. To do this, you have to open the notification center by clicking the icon at the bottom right , which looks like a text field . The latest notifications are displayed here. Click " Delete All " and the notices will be removed.

1. Press [Windws] + [I] to open Windows Settings. Then click on " System " and then select " Notifications and Actions " on the left .
2. If you now deactivate the switch for " Get notifications from apps and other senders " and remove all ticks, you can switch off all notifications. To receive notifications, activate the switch and check all options that you want to activate.
3. Then scroll down to "Get notifications from these senders " and select all apps and functions from which you would like to receive notifications. To switch off, set the switch to " Off ". If you click on an app, you can also set other notification options, for example displaying banners or playing tones.
4. Now switch to " Notification Assistant " on the left . Here you can choose not to receive notifications during certain times and activities . Activate the notification assistant with the options " Only with priority " or " Only alarms " and use " Customize priority list " to add certain contacts and apps to your priority list from whom you would like to continue receiving notifications.
5. In order to see new notifications, even if you have activated the notification assistant, click on the text field symbol in the lower right corner to open the notification center . Here you can see the latest news. You can delete them by clicking on " Delete all ".
