Accidentally deleted a picture in WhatsApp? We are going to show you some methods on how to recover the files..

Unlike a computer, deleted WhatsApp pictures or messages are not moved to the trash and can be easily restored. The files seem to have been permanently deleted at first. Find deleted pictures using file manager on Android

If the pictures have disappeared from the smartphone gallery, you can search for the folder on Android:

1st step:

Open the file manager of your smartphone and select " Internal storage ".

2nd step:

Then navigate to " WhatsApp ".

3rd step:

Now tap on " Media ".

4th step:

Go to " WhatsApp Images ". In this folder you will find all received and sent WhatsApp images. This way is not possible on the iPhone as there is no file manager here. If this method does not produce the desired result, follow the next instructions.

Recover deleted pictures via WhatsApp backup

Another method that works on iPhone and Android is to restore deleted pictures from a WhatsApp backup.

Note: This method will lose any data received after your last backup with WhatsApp. So save the data or images on the smartphone in some other way beforehand..

1st step:

First open the settings in WhatsApp by tapping on the three-dot menu in the top right corner in Android and selecting " Settings ". On the iPhone , you can find the settings in the lower right corner.

2nd step:

Now tap on " Chats "> " Chat Backup ". The procedure here is the same for Android and iOS. The date of the last WhatsApp backup is important. If the image was already there at this point, the backup can solve your problem.

3rd step:

Now proceed as follows: Uninstall WhatsApp from your smartphone and download it again from the Google Play Store or the App Store on an iPhone. WhatsApp will now ask you for your cell phone number. Confirm this as usual. The local backup or the backup on Google Drive will then be found automatically , which you must confirm with " Restore ". Now you should be able to find the picture in your WhatsApp messages and download it again.
