You no longer use an e-mail account in Outlook and want to remove it? Then here's how to delete the account from Outlook..

There can always be times when you want to change your email address or remove an old email account from Outlook. Removing it does not completely deactivate the account, but you will no longer receive or send any further emails in Outlook using the account. In the newer versions from Outlook 2010 this process is kept very simple and is clearly explained in our instructions. How to delete an email account from Outlook

1st step:

Open Microsoft Outlook and click the " File " tab in the top left corner.

2nd step:

Select " Account Settings " and then click again on the sub-item " Account Settings " to add or remove accounts.

3rd step:

Now select the e-mail account you want to delete from Outlook. Next, click on the " Remove " option .

4th step:

A warning is displayed that the offline cached content for this account will be deleted. At this point you can create a backup in the form of an OST offline file if you follow the link in the warning. Confirm the deletion of the e-mail account with " Yes ".

Quick start Guide:

1. Click the File tab .
2. Select Account Settings > Account Settings .
3. Highlight the account to be deleted and click " Remove ".
4. Confirm the deletion with " Yes ".

How to delete your Outlook account on Microsoft

1st step:

Sign in to the official Microsoft website with your Outlook.com, Outlook.de, Live.com or Live.de account. Follow the instructions for logging in to your account on the next few pages and enter your email address and password .

2nd step:

On the overview page for your account, click on Security .

3rd step:

On the " Security Basics " page, scroll to the end and continue by clicking on " Additional Security Options ". It may happen that you now have to verify yourself. Follow the instructions and continue.

4th step:

The last item under the Additional Security Options is the heading " Closing your account ". Then select the option " Close my account ".

5th step:

In this step, Microsoft will inform you about all necessary steps and instructions for closing your account. We recommend that you read them carefully and, if you have any credit on Skype , check your subscriptions . Then click on " Next ".

6th step:

You now have several check boxes check and enable to confirm that you are one account closure are aware of the implications. You must also give Microsoft a reason why you want to close your account. Make the appropriate selection here. As the final step, click on " Mark as account to be closed ". Microsoft is now marking your account for deletion. This process takes 60 days . You can restore your account at any time during this period. After the 60 days have expired, however, you will lose all access to your data and your account will be deleted.

2. Then click on " Security " at the top .
3. Then click on " further security options " at the bottom of the page .

5. Click on " Close my account " and then on " Next ".
6. You will then be redirected and must activate all the check boxes and state a reason for the deletion. Confirm the process with " Mark as account to be closed ". A deletion process lasting 60 days will now be initiated. If you log in with your data again within these 60 days, the deletion of your account will be canceled.
