Deleting messages in Messenger Telegram is very easy. We'll explain how to do that here..

Telegram, the WhatsApp rival that now has 200 million active users, has released a major privacy-focused update. In the latest version, you can now delete messages for all participants in your chats. Unlike WhatsApp, where you can only delete messages for others up to 1 hour after they have been sent, Telegram has no time limit.

1st step:

Open Telegram and select a chat that you want to delete messages from. Now press and hold the message you want to delete and wait for the message to be highlighted.

2nd step:

You can now select further messages by tapping them. You can recognize marked messages by the green arrow on the left. Then tap on the trash can in the upper right corner.

3rd step:

If you also want to delete the selected messages for the chat partner, check the box next to " Also delete for [name] ". The option " Delete from all members " is then available for groups . Then tap on " Delete ".

Clear all chat history

1st step:

Open Telegram and select a chat whose history you want to clear. Then tap on the three-dot menu in the upper right corner of the chat window .

2nd step:

Now tap on the option " Clear history ".

3rd step:

In order to delete the history for the other chat partner as well, check the option " Clear history also for [name] ". Unfortunately, there is no option for groups to delete the history for other participants as well. When you're done, tap Clear History .

Quick guide: Delete individual messages

1. Open the chat you want in Telegram and press and hold the message you want to delete until it is highlighted.
2. You can now mark further messages. Then tap the trash can in the top right.
3. In order to delete the selected messages for the other chat participant, check the box " Also delete for [name] ". Groups then say " Delete from all members ". Then tap on " Delete ".

Quick guide: Clear all history

1. Open the desired chat in Telegram whose history should be deleted. Tap the three-dot menu in the upper right corner and select " Clear history" .
2. In order to delete the history for the other person as well, check the box " Empty history also for [name] ". Then tap on " Clear History ".
