If you want to start your Mac without logging in, you must first turn off FileVault. Read here how it works..

FileVault is a feature of macOS to encrypt your personal data and the hard drive. The underlying encryption technology is XTS-AES 128. For example, if someone wants to log on to your Mac without a password, this will be prevented. You can also turn off FileVault so you can log into your Mac without a password. In doing so, however, you also forego the associated safety functions.

1st step:

Click the Apple icon in the top left to bring up the menu and select System Preferences .

2nd step:

Then click on " Security ".

3rd step:

Select the " FileVault " tab . The " Disable FileVault " option is initially grayed out. To edit the protection settings, click on the lock symbol .

4th step:

Use Touch ID or enter a password . For the second option, click " Use Password ".

5th step:

Enter your password and click on " Unprotect ".

6th step:

The option " Disable FileVault " is no longer grayed out. Click on it.

7th step:

Then go to " Disable Encryption " to permanently disable FileVault. It may take a moment to decrypt your hard drive.

4. Then go to " Disable FileVault ".
5. FileVault is permanently deactivated via " Deactivate encryption ".
