An account can be individually identified with the Steam ID, because the sequence of numbers is unique. With a few simple steps you can read out your own Steam ID either directly via Steam or via a browser. You can then use this, for example, to determine the value of your Steam account.

How to read your Steam ID directly from Steam

1st step:

Open the Account menu by clicking your Steam name in the top right corner. There you select " Show my profile ".

2nd step:

Right click anywhere on your profile page and choose " Show source code " from the selection menu.

The editor you have specified by default opens. Simultaneously press [Ctrl] + [F] to call up the search function. Search for " steamid " and press [Enter] . The editor will now show you your Steam ID next to " g_steamID ".

How to read your Steam ID using a browser

Log into the desktop version of Steam. At the top left you will find the " Steam " button . First click on it and then on " Settings ".

A new window will now open. Here you have to select " Surface " on the left . On the right-hand side, check the box next to " Show Steam URL address line if available ". Now close the window.

Select your username at the top right and then click on " View my profile ". This will take you to your profile page.

4th step:

You can now see your Steam ID in the URL bar at the top . You can see it at / profiles / [number] . If there is a name (of your choice) instead of a number, just follow the next step.

Copy the URL of your Steam profile and enter it into your internet browser. Append " ? Xml = 1 " without the quotation marks and press [Enter] . In the field <steamID64> [number] </ steamID64> You can then read your Steam ID. Note: As a rule, the text is displayed as in the picture above. If the text is very confusing and compressed to a few lines, you should try another browser such as Chrome or Firefox.

  2. In the settings window you have to click on " Surface " on the left . Then check the box next to " Show Steam URL address line if available " on the right. After you have ticked this box, you can close the window again.
  3. Then click on your username in the upper right corner and then on " View my profile ". At the top of the bar of your profile you will now see a very long number - your Steam ID.
  4. If you do not see an ID there, but a user name (you have specified), you must copy the entire bar. Then open a browser and paste the url there. At the end you have to write " ? Xml = 1 " (without quotation marks).
    An XML document is now displayed. The point <steamID64> [number] </steamID64> shows your ID. All you have to do is read the number.

    Tip
    : Depending on the browser, this can be relatively confusing. We recommend using Firefox or Chrome, as the lines of the document are all displayed individually here.
