Preparation: Adjust security settings

Before you are authorized to install APK files on your Android device, you have to adjust some settings:

  1. To do this, open the settings on your device.
  2. Under " General " look for the item " Security " and open it.
  3. Now look for the option " Unknown Origin " (or " Unknown Sources ") and activate it. Now you can install apps (APK files) that do not come from the Play Store. After the installation you can deactivate the option again.

  2. Now run the APK file by clicking on it. The downloaded files can be found under Download.
  3. Now you just have to confirm the installation again and then the app will be installed.

Note: If you want to import an update for the externally installed APK file, this does not work automatically. You have to download and install the update manually.
