Edge is Microsoft's in-house web browser and has replaced Internet Explorer as the standard browser on Windows 10. Edge has been based on Chromium since January 15th, 2020 and supports its extensive add-on library and functionality. Repair or reset Microsoft Edge on Windows 10

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open the Windows settings with the key combination [Win] + [I] . Here click on " Apps ".

Under " Apps & Features " select the entry " Microsoft Edge ". The " Advanced Options " display appears . Click on it.

In the Microsoft Edge settings, navigate to the " Reset " item . Here you can either " Repair " or completely " Reset " using the corresponding Edge buttons . Click the option you want and see if Edge works properly again afterwards. If not, you can reinstall Edge. To do this, follow the next instructions.

Reinstall Microsoft Edge on Windows 10

If you haven't been able to fix Edge, you can also reinstall the browser. Since Edge is integrated as a fixed system component in Windows 10, a new installation is only possible with a command via PowerShell:

1st step:

Run the PowerShell as an administrator. You can access PowerShell via Windows search.

2nd step:

Now enter the command Get-AppXPackage -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$ ($ _. InstallLocation) \ AppXManifest.xml" -Verbose} and press [Enter] . Edge will then be reinstalled and should now work properly again.

quick start Guide

  1. Open the Windows settings via [Win] + [I] .
  2. Then go to all " Apps & Features " via Apps . Here, look for Microsoft Edge.
  3. Click on the entry and select " Advanced Options ".
  4. Now you have to scroll down to the point " Reset ".
  5. You now have two options: " Repair " and " Reset ". If "Repair" doesn't help, try completely resetting the browser.
