You want to watch your favorite program as a video in the ZDF media library - but the age limit automatically blocks all access to age-restricted content and videos before 10 p.m. Only one thing helps: you can verify your age with the help of a German identity card or passport and a free ZDF account. You can then conveniently watch all programs at any time. You can find out exactly how this works in the following.

1st step:

Log in to zdf.de with your ZDF account . Then navigate to " Settings " via " My ZDF ". If you do not have an account yet, register at https://www.zdf.de/mein-zdf/registrierung . There you have to enter a valid email address and a password and accept the terms of use. Then confirm your email address and the ZDF account has been created.

Here, scroll down and click the " Start age rating " button .

Now select your ID country and click on " Next " below .

Enter the required numbers from your ID card in the fields provided. Click on " Next " to go to the last step, where you can define a youth protection PIN . That's it, you can now watch age-restricted programs before 10 p.m.

quick start Guide

  1. Log into your ZDF account via zdf.de. If you don't already have one, you will need to create an account before continuing with the instructions.
  2. Then go to " My ZDF "> " Settings " in the top right corner .
  3. Here you scroll down a little and select " Start age rating ".
  4. The next steps are clearly structured: Select your ID country and click on " Next ".
  5. Enter the specified digits of the ID in the correct fields.
  6. Finally, set a parental control PIN and the age restriction will be lifted for all videos.
