In AOL, you can create up to 5 signatures. After setting up your AIM Mail or AOL Mail signature, it is automatically added to the email background (or before the quoted text in response to it) of any mail you write. You can selectively move it by deleting the text.
Create an email signature in AIM Mail or AOL Mail
To make a new signature in AIM Mail or AOL Mail on the website:
- Click "Mail" → "Create Mail Signatures" from the AOL menu.
- Select "Create".
- Give the signature a meaningful name (which is useful if you have different signatures for different recipients and need to choose the correct one).
- Type what you like as an email signature.
- Check "Use rich text" / "Write as HTML" and use the formatting toolbar to add text styles and images.
- Add the standard signature delimiter if desired.
- Try to keep your signature on a few lines of text.
- Click “OK” and close the window.
Tips for email signatures
Keep a few things in mind when creating a new email signature. Other than your name, title and contact details:
- Limit the signature to five lines or less. Use the "pipe" character of "| Between the items if you need to put more on a line, for example, "street address | city | state ".
- For a business signature, include your business's full address, contact information, and, if applicable, their web address or Facebook URL.
