A quick part is a fragment of text that is applied repeatedly across your Word document. You can call up a predefined text using a short description. Another word for this is "AutoText" in Word. How to create a quick part, then insert and organize it, read the following.

How to create a Quick Part

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Select the word or section of text in your Word document that you want to save as a building block .

Now click on the " Insert " tab . Then navigate via " Quick Parts " in the " Text " group to " Save Selection in Quick Parts Catalog ". Alternatively, you can also press [Alt] + [F3] at the same time.

3rd step:

In the window that opens, give the block a name that also represents the abbreviation for reuse. We choose "htt". Change " Save in " to "Normal.dotm " so that the quick part is applied to all documents. Finally click on " OK ".

4th step:

Now enter the abbreviation in your Word document and press [F3] . The abbreviation is automatically converted into the specified text.

To change your abbreviations or to get an overview of all specified text modules, click again on " Insert "> " Quick Parts ". Select " Organizer for building blocks ... ".

Here you have the option to search for the previously defined block "htt" or your own definition and to change it via " Edit properties ... ".

Adjust the abbreviation as desired. We change our fixed abbreviation from "htt" to "ht + t". Then click " OK " and " Close ". You have successfully changed the abbreviation.
