The cover page is the first impression of your Word document. It is therefore important that you create an attractive cover page using Word's built-in templates. You can find out how this works below.

How to create a cover page in Word

Read our step-by-step guide or take a look at the quick start guide .

1st step:

Select the "Insert " tab at the top of the menu ribbon .

2nd step:

Click on " Cover Page " on the left . The menu shown with integrated templates opens . Choose a template for your Word document.

3rd step:

You now have the option of adapting individual elements of the template. We've adjusted the color scheme and changed the title here . Of course, you can also insert your own pictures here or adjust other elements.

4th step:

When you have finished your cover sheet and want to save it for reuse , mark all elements of the cover sheet with [Ctrl] + [A] or simply with the mouse. Now go to " Cover Sheet " in the ribbon again and click on " Save selection in cover sheet catalog ... ".

quick start Guide

  1. On the ribbon, click Paste .
  2. Then go to " Cover Sheet " and select a template .
  3. Adjust individual elements according to your choice.
  4. Save the modified cover sheet by selecting everything and clicking on " Save selection in cover sheet catalog ... " again via " Cover sheet " .
