Excel does not have a built-in feature to insert a watermark. But we explain here how you can do it anyway..

Watermarks come in handy because you can use them to protect your work from copying and misuse. This not only applies to images but also to text documents. You can even insert your personal watermark into files that you have created with Microsoft Excel. And that's a lot easier than you are probably thinking by now.

How to insert a watermark in Excel

1st step:

Open your Excel document and switch to the " Page Layout " category .

There click on the " Background " button .

Now choose how you want to insert your picture. With " From a file " you can insert an image that is already saved on your PC or search for a graphic with Bing. If you are signed in to OneDrive on your computer , you can also look there for a picture.

The image is now displayed as the background and is repeated until the entire sheet is filled out. To make content in cells more readable , change the font color or fill the cells with color.

  1. Open Excel, switch to the " Page Layout " tab and click the " Background " button there .
  2. Now insert an image by either choosing one from your computer, searching on Bing, or selecting one from OneDrive.
