The header stands above the actual text and is used for orientation or navigation of your Word document. However, if you need more space on the pages or just want to fill out the page completely, you can remove the header and also the footer.

How to remove the header in microsoft word

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open your Word document and switch to the " Layout " tab at the top . There click on " Margins " on the left .

2nd step:

Now click on the button " User-defined margins ... ".

3rd step:

Under " Margins " in the tab of the same name, enter 0 for " Top " . To remove the footer as well, enter 0 for " Bottom " . Then click on " OK ". The header you can re- add by place 0 standard 2.5 typing.

quick start Guide

  1. Switch to the " Layout " tab in your Word document and click on " Margins ".
  2. Then go to " User-defined margins ... ".
  3. In the " Margins " tab, enter 0 for " Top " .
  4. To remove the footer as well, enter 0 for " Bottom " as well.
  5. To undo the process , enter the default 2.5 .
