It has been possible to use Spotify without Facebook for some time. These instructions show you how to log in again without Facebook and how to disconnect your existing Spotify account from Facebook.

New Spotify account without Facebook

Creating a new Spotify account that you can use independently of Facebook is done in just a few steps. If you already have an account and want to disconnect from Facebook, continue with the next instruction ..

Note: You can also create a new account in the Spotify app on your smartphone. To do this, select " Create account " on the app's start screen and then " Register ".

Open the Spotify app on your smartphone. Alternatively, you can re-register via the Spotify website . Click on " Register for free ".

Instead of logging in directly via Facebok above, fill out all fields and agree to the terms of use . Then click on " Use Spotify ". You have now created a new account, completely independent of Facebook.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to disconnect your account from Facebook without losing your saved playlists. However, you can export your playlists beforehand. We'll show you how this works in the following step-by-step guide . Alternatively, you can also take a look at our brief instructions .

1st step:

First, log into your existing Spotify account. On the left, select the playlist that you want to export. Then click on the circle with the three dots next to " Play ". Now you can click on " Publish ". This allows you to find this playlist with your new account and take over the music files . Now log out of this account.

Now create a new account ( as described in the instructions above ). Sign in to Spotify with this and look in the bar above for the playlist that you have previously published. Select all titles and click on the three dots to the left of one of the titles. A menu opens. From here, click " Add to Playlist "> " New Playlist ". This carried over the old playlist to the new one.

Switch to Facebook . There click on the arrow in the upper right corner of the tab. Select " Settings " from the menu .

Click on the " Apps and websites " item on the left . Spotify is shown to you as the active app. Now put a tick in the field next to the name and then click on " Remove ".

You will now be asked to confirm again . Click on " Remove " here. This will permanently delete your old Spotify account and thus also your data stored there. Facebook is then no longer linked to Spotify. The last step is to check that your old Spotify account is really deleted.

  1. Open the Spotify website or the Spotify app .
  2. Click there on " Register " and enter the required data below and do not log in via Facebook above.

  5. Use the new account to find your previously published playlist in the bar above .
  6. Select all titles and click on the three dots next to a title. From the menu, select " Add to Playlist "> " New Playlist ". All the songs from the old playlist have already been transferred.
  7. Switch to Facebook ( http://www.facebook.de ). There click on the arrow at the top of the tab. Select " Settings ".
  8. Click on " Apps and websites " in the menu on the left . Spotify is shown there as the active app. Put a tick in the box next to the name and click " Remove ".
  9. Click " Remove " again to confirm . Facebook and Spotify are no longer linked. Use your new, independent Spotify account from now on.
