There are things you type over and over again - whether it's your address or a greeting. But you can make your work much easier with the Microsoft Word Office program: You can use it to create so-called AutoText modules, with the help of which you can insert an entire text module with just a few characters.

How to use AutoText in Word

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

First, write the text you want to add to your AutoText catalog. Then select it and switch to the " Insert " category at the top .

Then click the " text " to " Quick Parts " and select the option " AutoText ". Then click on " Save selection in AutoText catalog ".

3rd step:

For " Name: " you now enter the abbreviation with which you want to insert the text you have just marked later. Leave the other settings as they are and enter a description if desired. Then click OK .

4th step:

In order to insert the AutoText now, enter the previously defined name for your AutoText. If you see the field with the completion, press [Enter] to insert it into your document.

quick start Guide

  1. Highlight the text you want to add to your AutoText catalog and go up to the tab " Insert ".
  2. There, click on " Quick Parts " and then to " AutoText ". Now select " Save selection in the AutoText catalog ".
  3. Enter a suitable abbreviation for " Name: " with which you can insert the AutoText. Do not change any of the other settings and, if necessary, enter a description. Then click OK .
  4. To insert the AutoText, enter what you have just specified for " Name: " and press [Enter] as soon as you see the field with the completion.
