For many, Ubuntu is the entry point into the great world of Linux operating systems. The attractive design and the beginner-friendly operation are not the only advantages of Ubuntu. Installation is child's play with a USB stick and our instructions.

Preparation: Install Ubuntu on a USB stick

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Download here the desired version of Ubuntu on your PC down. These instructions show the installation using Ubuntu 17.10. The current version with a longer support period is Ubuntu 20.04LTS (Long Term Support). The installation steps are the same.

Download the UNetbootin program .

Remove any USB memory sticks or USB hard drives. Insert an empty USB stick with a size of at least 8 gigabytes into a USB port. Now start UNetbootin with a double click. Select image and look for your downloaded Ubuntu version (you can usually find it in the "Downloads" folder) by clicking on the " three dots ". Next, select USB Drive under " Type " . There should now be a letter under Drive stand. Then click on " Next ".

4th step:

The Ubuntu image is now written to the USB stick.

Restart your computer again and select the USB drive as a boot device (boot device) in the BIOS of. Select " Erase Hard Drive and Install Ubuntu " then click " Install Now ". Warning : The content on your hard drive will be completely deleted .
