Would you like to rotate a video with Windows Media Player? Then a little detour is necessary. We'll tell you how to do it here..

It can happen that you record a video with your smartphone, transfer it to your computer and it is suddenly misaligned there. In order to enjoy watching the video again, you can of course turn it into the correct position. However, this does not work with Windows Media Player, as this is only software for playing back video files. But there is another Windows tool that can do this: Windows Movie Maker. Unlike Windows Media Player, this is not preinstalled in Windows 10, but you can easily upgrade it.

How to rotate a video using Windows Movie Maker

If you have not yet installed the Movie Maker, you can download it here: https://www.heise.de/download/. Then right click on the video. Then click on the entry " Open With " and " Movie Maker ".

2nd step:

Now go to " Rotate left " or " Rotate right " in the " Edit " category - depending on which direction you want to rotate the video.

To save the video in this way, click on the " File " button in the upper left corner and select " Save movie ". Then give your new video an appropriate name and save it.
