1st step:

Start Windows Media Player and activate the menu bar via " Organize "> " Layout "> " Show menu bar ".

Now navigate in the menu bar via " Help " to " Check for updates ".

Windows Update opens , which searches for new updates for you. Click here on " Install Now " if a new version for Windows Media Player is available. After the update, the player can be used again for videos and other media without any problems.
