Microsoft Teams is a comprehensive collaboration tool that is available as part of the Microsoft Office suite. Video telephony is a core function in Microsoft Teams. To make your meetings even easier, you can share your screen with the other participants during a video conference. This works on both the computer and the smartphone.

Share your screen during a call

If you're on a call, you can quickly find the screen sharing feature.

Desktop

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions ..

1st step:

While on a call, click the screen sharing icon . This is located at the top of the window. It doesn't matter whether you are making a voice or video call.

2nd step:

You can then choose to split your entire screen or just a specific window . You can also select a moderator mode here, with which you can, for example, show your video next to your screen transfer as shown in the images.

3rd step:

If you have started a screen transfer, you can end it again by clicking the icon for the transfer again . When you end the call , the screen sharing will also stop.

Smartphone

1st step:

During a call, tap the three dots below . It doesn't matter whether it's a voice or a video call.

Now select the " Share " entry .

Then tap " screen sharing ". You can activate the " Audio " switch to also share the audio from your smartphone. You also have the option to share a video or photo here .

Now all you have to do is tap " Start " to begin sharing your screen.

The other participants in the call can then see your screen.

You can stop broadcasting your screen by tapping End Presentation at the bottom or simply end the call .

Share screen in chat

You can also share your screen with others without making a call. It's easy to do via chat. However, this feature is only available if all participants are using the desktop version. Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions ..

1st step:

Select the chat you want in Microsoft Teams and click the screen sharing icon in the top right corner . You will then see several options for the transfer. Here you can choose, among other things, whether you want to split your entire screen or just a specific window . If you click on an option, a request is sent to the chat partner (s).

2nd step:

The chat partner (s) must then accept your screen transfer request .

3rd step:

If the request is accepted, your screen will be shared. You can stop the transmission at any time by clicking the " End presentation " button in the bar at the top .

Quick start guide: Desktop

  1. During a voice or video call, click the screen sharing icon at the top of the window.
  2. Then choose whether you want to broadcast your entire screen or just a specific window .
  3. The transfer can be ended by clicking the screen transfer icon again or by ending the call.

Quick start guide: smartphone

  1. During a voice or video call, tap the three dots below.
  2. Then select " Share ".
  3. Then tap on " Screen ". The broadcast can then be stopped again when you end the call or by tapping " End Presentation " below.

Quick start guide: Chat

  1. Open the chat you want in Microsoft Teams and click the screen sharing icon in the top right corner .
  2. The chat partner must then accept the request for transmission.
  3. If the request is accepted, your screen will be transmitted. To exit, just click on " End Presentation " above.
